How to Care for Your Skin in the Morning

Morning and evening skincare routines differ due to varying schedules and skin needs. While basic skincare steps remain constant, there are specific aspects to focus on during the morning routine…

Morning Skincare Steps
During the day, the focus of skincare is on moisturizing and sun protection to help maintain the skin’s oil-water balance and prevent accelerated aging.

Step 1: Gently Cleanse Your Face
The first step in a skincare routine is cleansing. Even though you rest at night, your skin continues to produce oil. It’s essential to cleanse away any oil and impurities that accumulate overnight. The ideal water temperature for washing your face is between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius—not too cold or too hot, as extreme temperatures can reduce cleansing effectiveness or stimulate excess oil production.

If your skin doesn’t produce much oil, you might only need to rinse your face with water. For oilier skin, a facial cleanser should be used to remove excess oil.

Step 2: Apply Lotion and Serum
After cleansing, apply lotion and serum to your skin. Use gentle patting motions to help your skin absorb the products evenly, keeping it hydrated without feeling sticky. This also helps your makeup adhere better and creates a smoother finish.

Step 3: Apply Moisturizer
After hydrating your skin, it’s important to lock in moisture. It’s best to use a lightweight lotion or cream during the day. Apply a thin layer to your face and gently massage until fully absorbed.

Step 4: Apply Sunscreen
Finally, apply sunscreen to complete your morning skincare routine. Depending on your makeup needs, you can choose between a sunscreen or a sunscreen-infused makeup product.
